Viva Las Vegas! and the quest for education.

Thanks to a tradeshow held at the extra large convention center in Las Vegas, our little family got to have a vacation! We drove down on Monday and (really) happened to stay at the same hotel my grandparents were staying at. We walked and walked and walked (blisters to prove it) and enjoyed the warm weather (low 50s compared to single digits at home.) I have always been invisible in Vegas, but with a cute little baby it was a different story. There were lots of people that wanted to say hello, and it was fun for us when R returned their greeting with a smile. His cute little mug earned us free food at a restaurant and some of the creepy men handing out "fliers" on the strip just spoke to the baby (no touchy!!) and let us walk by.
R did get his first throw-up flu bug. Yuck. Nothing like being sick in a motel room. I came home praying he wouldn't throw up on my last pair of clean clothes. The only good thing is that he slept all the way home. Poor kid. Luckily he's back to normal now.

In other big news, E has decided he wants to go back to school. This hobby of plants needs to grow to a career. His love of citrus and tropical plants leads us to places California, Florida, and Arizona. Florida is too far. Since we were over half way there (in Vegas) we went on to Riverside, CA and visited UC-Riverside. The campus was nice and they have a great botany program, but it is not the place for us. The next place we will check out is the University of Arizona in Tucson. It looks like we need to plan on living there long enough to establish residency so that we can afford it. Big changes are on the horizon. Exciting ones.
