If you put dry beans in the sand table, you can not toss them onto the lawn the way you may be able to toss sand.
However, it has been oddly therapeutic for me to pick the bean plants.
(This picture is my 4th harvest, and the smallest of the bunch. Eek.)

I love it. But was it you or the kids that put them there to start with?
The kids did some and their dad dumped out the rest. :) I'm innocent.
That is so funny! It reminds me of that story I read on CNN.com about the 72 year old guy who aspirated a pea into his lung and it sprouted.
