St. Pat Day

This morning we woke up in my hometown. I borrowed my brother's truck last week and I was anxious to get it back to him. The kids and I cruised down last night and came back today. I really have great kids to make the 5 hour trip with minimal tears and stops. One of the few moments I'm glad R is still in diapers.

So I forgot that it was St. Patrick's day. Apparently I am still traumatized from the pinching in elementary school because I rushed to the suitcase last night when my dad mentioned the date.

Here's what I had packed for R to wear today, NOT remembering it was St. Patrick's Day. This does not show the green jacket he was wearing. He must really be a leprechaun.

To celebrate we are NOT having corned beef and cabbage (because I don't like it.) We ARE having green jello, artichokes, chicken, and green sugar cookies for dessert.

A little search showed me that many familiar sayings are Irish proverbs, so I leave you with this:

You'll never plow a field by turning it over in your mind.
