Keeping Busy

This week is the first one I'm feeling like we are understanding this new routine.  The routine of life with kids in school. The one where I get to spend 2 hours a day in the van.

RR is totally loving this new schedule.  He gets 3 hours a day with me alone, and he is choosing to use them to pester me to read to him.  This morning we read 13 books before I could take it no more.  Ideally I'll use this time to clean the house and exercise.  So far, we're using it to read and doze.  No complaints here.

Miss M is loving school, just as we thought she would.  She is the type of student that schools are built for.  Smart, follows instructions, loves being with other kids, etc.  It is great.

R is having the struggles we thought he would.  When you think you can teach yourself everything you need to know, and you don't like to follow instructions, combined with the fact that everything you teacher asks you to do is super easy for you, school is not going to be a fun place.  We've had lots of drama getting him to ride the bus (would YOU want to ride a bus for 2 hours a day?) And we've found he's much happier about things when we give him a ride to and from school.

They all get up in the morning easily (it's mom and dad that drag their feet...) There is cub scouts for R, dance for Miss M, mutual for me, plus various other activities and school requirements taking us away 4 nights a week.  We are staying busy, and that's a great thing.
